About Us

Our goal is to help the people of Chateau, Haiti become a spiritually and economically self-sustaining community that embraces the unique culture of the Haitian people, and develops Christian ministers, community leaders, and entrepreneurs for generations to come.

In the summer of 2010, the Mission Church of Hammond sent missions teams to Marbial, Haiti. While there, we learned of the dire living conditions in the tiny community of Chateau, located near Jeremie, Haiti. Basic necessities such as clean drinking water, food, schooling, and jobs were sorely lacking. By the end of 2011, with much prayer and the generosity of many people, a permanent work was established in Chateau, Haiti. A seven acre plot of land was purchased and a temporary building for a church was built.

The church has quickly grown to about 200 members, and a 2,700 square foot church has been built. A children’s feeding program is now offered to the community, and micro-economic programs for chicken and vegetable farming are underway. Plans to install a well for clean drinking water are nearly completed. We will kick off our Educational Program by offering Kindergarten classes this Fall.

The beautiful people of Chateau are eager to embrace the opportunities afforded to them through the love and generosity of so many. We thank you for your interest in this life changing outreach.

Vision Statement

To help the people of Jeremie, Haiti become a spiritually and economically self-sustaining community that embraces the unique culture of the Haitian people, and develops Christian ministers, community leaders, and entrepreneurs for generations to come.

Our Mission

We intend to be a catalyst in the region to foster self-sustaining Christian ministries, and a thriving socio-economic community. We have identified and trained three local Christian ministers, and established The Mission Church of Jeremie. We will work with these leaders to survey the region and determine the types of spiritual, social, and economic programs that are most needed.

Our ultimate goal is to bring about long-term community transformation; sustainable change that goes beyond simply meeting immediate needs.

Community transformation involves specific activities and programs that are designed to bring about relevant, Christ-centered change in the community. These areas include:

  • Spiritual Growth
  • Relief Aid for Immediate Physical Needs
  • Community Enrichment Programs
  • Microeconomic Development
  • Partnerships with other Christian Churches and Charitable Organizations

We will co-labor with The Mission Church of Jeremie to implement strategically designed programs in each of these key areas to bring about lasting change to the glory of God.

We are currently breaking ground to build a church which will seat 300 people.

“Be strong in the grace that we have because we belong to Christ Jesus. What you have heard me teach publicly you should teach to others. Share these teachings with people you can trust. Then they will be able to teach others these same things.”
2 Timothy 2:1 & 2 (ERV)
